My name is Laura and I’m a qualified Italian translator. I have been working in the translation industry since 2006.
My academic background (BA/MA) comprises studies in foreign languages, translation, law, economics and finance.
I was born and raised in Italy but I have always liked to travel and learn other languages. I have attended language courses in Germany, England, Spain and Portugal and I have lived and worked in German, English and Portuguese speaking countries. I’m now based in sunny Australia and I work as a full-time freelance translator.
Since 2006 I have been working as a freelance translator, providing translation services to agencies and direct clients from Europe, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada and several other countries.
In 2011-2014 I have worked as a full-time in-house translator and reviser for a financial institution in Switzerland. My main task was to revise and translate texts related to finance, banking, law and marketing from German into Italian. I have therefore a strong knowledge and understanding of finance and banking.
In 2008 I have worked as an in-house translator for an Italian translation agency, where I translated mainly legal texts from English and German into Italian. I have also volunteered as an Italian translator for several non-governmental organizations.
I take pride in my profession and I constantly commit myself to professional development.
My main specialization areas are finance, banking, economics, business, insurance, marketing, tourism and non-governmental organizations. I also translate texts related to law (corporate law, contracts and certificates), education and media.
